The freenode project has been supporting free and open source software and other peer-directed project communities since 1998.

freenode #live is a community-focused live event designed to build and strengthen relationships between Free and Open Source Software (FOSS) developers and users. freenode live seeks to raise awareness of and promote FOSS alternatives to proprietary software. Facilitating face-to-face interaction, creative workshops, talks and think tanks, freenode #live will bring developers and users together in a nurturing and dynamic environment stimulating the free exchange of ideas and information while fostering cross-project collaboration and dialogue for innovation.

We would love to see your project at freenode #live, whether as an exhibitor, speaker or participating in another way. We recognise that freenode provides a home to peer-directed projects that do not have a FOSS focus, and we want the conference to be just as inclusive and diverse as the freenode network itself, and we would love to see projects such as Creative Commons, Free Culture, Wikipedia, and the various hackerspaces/makerspaces and digital rights organisations represented as well!

Please join us in the #live channel on the freenode network, or send us an e-mail ([email protected]) if you have any questions and would like to get involved! Further information will also be posted on the freenode.net website.

We would also like to extend thanks to Private Internet Access, who have agreed to be our main sponsor and co-host this year -- if you are looking for sponsorship opportunities, please drop us a line to [email protected] and we will try our best to accommodate.

Call for Papers
